Our Onions
Our onions are grown in regions known for producing naturally sweet, high-quality bulbs—bringing the flavor of Vidalia season and the consistency of global harvests to your table year-round.

Hand-planted and harvested with care each season, our sweet onions are known for their mild flavor and versatility in a wide-range of dishes from soups to salads, sandwiches, sides, dips and sauces.
Our goal has always been to provide the most consistent, premium-quality, and flavorful sweet onions available, and today, we offer a year-round supply. Our Vidalia onions are harvested in the spring and summer months at our headquarters in Southeast Georgia, and we import our sweet onions from Peru in the fall and winter months. Both are grown in different countries but have similar seed varieties, soil, climate, and growing conditions to ensure the same superior sweet onion flavor.

Vidalia® Sweet Onions
Vidalia Sweet Onions are prized for their exceptionally mild, sweet flavor and crisp, juicy texture. Grown exclusively in the rich soils of southeast Georgia, these onions develop their signature sweetness thanks to the region’s unique low-sulfur soil and ideal growing conditions. Vidalia onions have a light golden skin, a slightly flattened round shape, and tender white flesh that makes them perfect for both raw and cooked dishes. Their naturally mild flavor makes them a favorite for salads, sandwiches, grilling, roasting, and classic onion rings. Harvested in the spring, Vidalia sweet onions are celebrated as one of America’s most iconic specialty crops.

Storage Tips
Keep your sweet onions fresh for everyday use
Sweet onions contain significantly more water than regular onions, giving them their signature mild sweetness and tender texture. However, this higher moisture content also makes them more delicate, prone to bruising, and quicker to spoil if not handled properly.
Even minimal pressure or improper storage conditions can affect their texture and shorten their shelf life. To preserve their natural sweetness, freshness, and overall quality, it is essential to handle and store them with care.

Wrap sweet onions separately in paper towels and store in the refrigerator.

Take sheer panty hose and tie a knot between each sweet onion. Hang in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.

Keep sweet onions on an elevated rack or screen and keep in a cool place so the onions are not touching.

Don’t store with potatoes, which can make the onions spoil faster.
Preservation Tips
To enhance the flavor of our raw sweet onions, store them whole and unpeeled in the refrigerator and chill for about one hour before serving. If serving sliced onions, peel, slice and soak in ice water for about 30 minutes, then drain on a paper towel.
Try these tips for longer storage

Dried
Chop onions evenly, spread on a cookie sheet, then bake using the lowest temperature setting. Remove when fully dry but not browned, and store at room temperature in airtight containers.

Chopped and Frozen
Chop onions evenly, spread on a cookie sheet, then place in the freezer. Remove when completely frozen, then seal and store in freezer-safe containers or bags.

Frozen Whole
Peel, wash, and core onions, then place in freezer-safe containers or bags. Store in the freezer until ready to use, keeping them sealed to maintain freshness and prevent odor transfer.
