INGREDIENTS
- Pie/pastry shell for 9-inch pie
- 3 cups sliced or cubed G&R sweet onions
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk, undiluted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Serves 4-6
DIRECTIONS
Place the prepared pie/pastry shell on a pie plate. Sauté sweet onions in butter or margarine until tender, then arrange on pie/pastry shell. Beat eggs slightly, add evaporated milk, salt and pepper. Pour mixture over onions and bake at 425°F for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a metal knife inserted in the center comes out clean and pie is well browned.
